We plan, but…

I am a planner. I have written lists, and I have mental lists. I try to stick to the plan, but I find God usually has a different and better plan. Going though purchasing mine and my hubby’s first home together has brought this more clear than ever. I can’t tell you anything that I planned that went according to how I thought it should, but in that I think of how different my dad’s life had to have turned out than he planned. My daddy was a man of few words but very intentional. On this Father’s Day, I wonder what his advice would be for me if he were still here. Looking back over his life, I think he would say to plan, do my best and leave the results up to God. Oh, he would also encourage me to go tell someone about Jesus, but that is beside the point. Or is it? Anyway, I think both of those pieces of advice are perfect for today.
